Cleveland wheelers marshalling duties 2019

Hi all, the Cleveland wheelers needs you! It’s that time of year again when we ask members to commit to helping with a club event or events. I’m sure you can all appreciate that the club would be unable to produce high quality events without the help of its members. Please see the google survey below where you can cross out event dates that you are unavailable. There is also an option at the end to help out at a Monday night at the league 2000 instead of marshalling at an open event. Also please note that the open event marshalling is not to be confused with evening series marshalling which you committ to seperetly on entering the evening series. Please can you all return your responces by 10th of February. Thanks for your help with this. Dave k

CWCC Christmas Day 10

Apologies to those who missed this when it was published on our Facebook page.

16 riders took part in the event although Richard Carter did have to dash home to get his cycling shoes and started six minutes after everyone else!

Mentions to Stephen Bailes who had more tinsel on his bike than our Christmas tree and Dave Kirton’s mitigating excuse that he did have his Christmas jumper on.

New Club Jersey Survey

The results of the survey to pick the new club jersey are now available and are in the table below.

The table shows the number of votes each jersey got as first, second and third choices.

Each jersey is then given a points score as follows – (1st choice votes)x3 +(2nd choice votes)x2 + (third choice votes).

Using this weighting Jersey 2 ran out the winner. If you’ve forgotten what it looks like then it’s below.

1st Choice 2nd Choice 3rd Choice Points
Jersey 1 33 35 36 205
Jersey 2 40 43 38 244
Jersey 3 30 51 45 237
Jersey 4 52 17 24 214
Jersey 2
Jersey 2

Thanks to everyone who took the time to vote.

Cleveland wheelers kit review 2018

Hi wheelers. The time has arrived at to vote on our club kit as it’s now been well over 5 years since we chose the current design. Basically we have 3 new designs, design 1 from Dave Cole, and designs 2 and 3 from Marcus smith, plus of course the current kit, design 4 to choose from. There has been some heavy negotiations and modification to try and make the new designs modern, yet still somehow as “ Cleveland wheelerie” as possible.
In order to achieving a fair outcome it will be a weighted vote, asking for 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice. Simply follow the link below to see the designs and vote.

Finally, in the interest of keeping piece and harmony, as I know very well from last time the tensions that can arise from changing the kit, although we have joked on about it, this really isn’t Brexit or the elections! Reguarldess of weather we vote to keep the existing design or a change to a new one? Those that prefer the current kit can keep riding in that, those that prefer to previous chevron kit can keep riding in that, honestly it’s not a problem, Brian Bevis still rides around in the original pale blue and red jersey, pretty cool and retro these days!
Anyway have a look, place your votes and let’s say a cut off 2 weeks from now, which will be Monday 26th Nov, see you all on the other side! Thanks, Dave k
