The Evening Series is starting on Thursday, 20 May.

If you are intending riding any of the events then it would help us if you register. This allows us to gauge interest and allocate marshalling duties.

That page also contains a list of riders who have already registered.

North East Youth League

Josef George writes :-

Hello everyone,

As things are returning to normal (fingers crossed!), we are very rapidly being able to return to our more regular calendar of events in relation to youth cycling.

So much so, that a number of clubs in our area are supporting the North East Youth League (NEYL) in hosting different rounds for 2021, which has just recently been given the go ahead.

Cleveland Wheelers CC are hosting round 1 which is very quickly approaching us as it is less than two weeks away now – Sunday 23rd May at the Cycle Circuit at Middlesbrough Sports Village.

It is a nice introduction to racing as other clubs from around the area will also be attending. Please note that entry is ONLINE only.

More information on cost, times and how to enter can be found in the link below which breaks down the full day’s event.

https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/events/details/241586/BCNE-North-East-Youth-League—Round-1

Myself, the coaching team and volunteers all hope to see as many of you as possible on the day as I’m sure a lot of you want to get back to racing! 🙂

If you require anything further, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Thanks & regards,

Josef George

Northallerton 50 in 4, ( 2021)

A mainly successful day for the Northallerton 50 in 4 new 2021 route, with 53 riders attending for the challenge ride and navigating the new route. Had good feedback on the event and route as a whole, Some fast group rides around the course today, but of course it’s not a race, the true event is all about the tourist trophy and we have two early leaders in contention, Shaun Joughin and Tom Levell both qualifying for extra points today with proper saddle bags and mudguards. Looks like this is going to be the competition to watch this year. Other rides of note, veteran and one of the founder members of the Cleveland wheelers Terry Lunn age 82 made his annual trip from York to Ayton to take part and completed the course. Please find in the comments below the list of participants, I was unable to get round quick enough to tick everyone off at the finish but you know if you have completed it. Thanks, Dave k

CWCC “Mountain 25”

Sunday 25th April saw the latest edition of Cleveland Wheeler’s “Mountain 25” TT over the Castleton to Hutton-Le-Hole course. This was the first Wheelers’ open event of the year and was a great success with its largest ever field and a lot of quality riders. Thankfully the “covid friendly” sign-on was helped by some decent weather – we dread to think how that could have gone in an April downpour!

The final results are on the CTT website and also available as a PDF (see download link below).

Additionally there is a photo album on our Google Photos site here courtesy of in-house photographer Michael Guess. Feel free to download and use any that you want for your own non-commercial use.

Additional photos are also available from professional photographer Mayo Creative.

Cleveland Wheelers wish to thank all of those who helped make this event possible, from the organiser, officials, helpers, competitors to spectators & supporters. We look forward to seeing you again at future events.
