Hi all, the next challenge ride in the series, the Paul Christon mountain challenge is this Sunday 15th, 09.30 departing Ayton tourist info car park. For anyone who hasn’t taken part before, there are 3 routes available, standard, plus, and Killer. Please see the link below for further route details. Don’t come expecting a pleasant day out! Our late friend paul designed these routes to make you all suffer majorly!, so let’s not disappoint!
The challenge rides are not usually lead rides, and part of the challenge is to navigate the route, however if riders wish to gather in their usual club run groups then that would be helpful. Any riders not wishing to take part please organise your club run as normal. Last thing, I’m after 2 or 3 volunteers as gate openers and closers on Gribdale? So if anyone not taking part would like to volunteer as part of their ride / spectating / then that would be a big help. Otherwise last rider up Gribdale to close the gates. Thanks, and enjoy! Dave K

Hello everyone,
May 2022 is lining up to be a very busy month for youth activities for Cleveland Wheelers, so I wanted to give you all a heads up for all things that we have going on and we would like you come and join us and take part –
- Monday May 2nd 2022 – Tour Series – Guisborough
- Cleveland Wheelers will have full access to the street circuit on the day of the Tour Series, 12:30pm-2:30pm, with the elite women on from 4pm and the elite men from 6pm.
- We are running a Skills Expo and Time Trial events for you all to take part in – please bring your bike and helmet and if possible, wear your club colours so that we can showcase ourselves to the world! As it was last year, the event will be televised so as much coverage we can get, the better! 🙂
- A handful of former Cleveland Wheeler riders will be riding the elite racing – including Harry & Charlie Tanfield!
- Make sure that you stick around after we are finished to cheer them on, you will be in store for some great racing!

- Sunday May 8th 2022 – NEYL Round 2 – Middlesbrough Sports Village – CANCELLED
- Unfortunately, due to circumstances outside of our control, this event has been cancelled and Cleveland Wheelers will not be running this event. Apologies to all who expressed an interest in this event.
- Monday May 9th 2022 – CWCC Youth & Advanced Training Sessions – Middlesbrough Sports Village, 6-7pm £3 per person, 7:30-8:30pm £4, per person.
- Our penultimate training sessions before our summer racing league, The League 2000 starts on Monday 23rd May for 12 weeks.
- Monday May 16th 2022 – CWCC Youth & Advanced Training Sessions – Middlesbrough Sports Village, 6-7pm £3 per person, 7:30-8:30pm £4, per person.
- Our last training sessions before our summer racing league, The League 2000 begins on Monday 23rd May for 12 weeks.
- Monday 23rd May 2022 – League 2000 Round 1 – Middlesbrough Sports Village, £5 per person
- Registration is now open at https://clevelandwheelers.com/
- Locate the League 2000 header and use the drop-down menus to familiarize yourself with the League 2000, how it works and how to enter.
- Please note that you will need to register ONCE for the whole series, but you are still required to enter each round each week.
- If you want to ride you need to enter each round, to do that you need to register, there are no entries on the day.
- Monday 30th May 2022 – League 2000 Round 2 – Middlesbrough Sports Village, £5 per person

Evening Series 2022
Registration is open for this year’s evening series. The series will run for 17 consecutive weeks from 5th May until 25th August. This will be followed by three weeks of hillclimbs up Clay Bank (this is a separate contest).
In order to be eligible for any of the prizes, including age-related, gender-specific, and handicap prizes, you MUST be registered. Registration runs until the opening event (5th May). After that, anyone turning up is just riding for fun – and TTs shouldn’t be fun!

As per last year, entry is £3 per week for adults, and £2 for juniors, all of which is to cover CTT levy costs.
