Tuesday night club run, 30th June. Ayton tourist info car park. 6pm

Hi all. Tuesday night club run meeting as usual Ayton tourist info car park at 6pm for 6.10 set off. The weathers at last looking fantastic for the meet up back at the Buck afterwards. Lots of ride options this week. I will take the main mixed ability group to do the 3 sides of clay bank repeats. This has been requested by Shaun O’Sheas who is going to be off the bike for a few weeks after this for his knee opp. Steve Tilly is looking at leading a medium paced club run over towards east Cleveland somewhere, and there will also probably be the usual option of a faster chain gang around the country lanes. All regrouping outside the Buck aprox 7.45pm for refreshments!

See you all there. Dave k

Evening Series v Stockton Wheelers, 25th June

It’s the return leg of our annual TT match against Stockton Wheelers this Thursday. We’re in the rare (for recently) position of being ahead from the first leg, so let’s try and keep it that way! It would be great if as many “big hitters” as possible showed up at Stockton’s course. Sign on is from 18:15 on Mill Lane where there is also ample parking. First off is at 19:00 from a point just beyond where Mill Lane emerges onto the main road, both marked on the map below (click to enlarge).

Capture.

It’s a proper 10-mile course, but a fairly fast one. Course details are here.

See you all there!

Revolve 24 At Brands Hatch

Anyone looking for something a little different might be interested in the Revolve24 to be held at Brands Hatch on 19/20 September this year. It’s basically a 24-hour relay race though it is open to soloists if you think you have it in you. 24-hour events are quite common in mountain biking, here’s a chance to do one on your road bike. Entry is discounted by 15% for BC members up until 12th July. You can ride it just for the fun/thrill of it, or you can ride it for charity, it’s up to you.

If you and your mates fancy this then give it a bash. An electronic flyer is available here.

Club Rider Support

At the AGM last September the committee was tasked to find a way to spend some of its income on support of riders engaging in racing on behalf of CWCC, be that at youth or senior level, road racing or TT. It has been a long process, but the criteria for support and the mechanism to provide it has been agreed and implemented and those parties concerned have been informed of the arrangements.
