Hello,
I hope that you are well.
Just to inform everyone that we have taken the decision to cancel this evenings sessions due to the yellow weather warning that is in place for snow and ice.
It has been a close call if we where going to go ahead with the session, and whilst we think that we may get away with it before the worse weather comes, its only getting colder as the evening goes on, making for not the best of conditions during the sessions.
Plus we wanted to think about your commute in getting back home after the session too, in case the weather does worsen.
We hope to see you all next week in hopefully, much nicer conditions! Stay safe out there!
If you have any further comments, questions or queries on anything at all, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
Myself and the coaching team look forward to seeing you at a future Cleveland Wheelers Youth Session!
Thanks & regards,

CWCC Freewheeling
3 November 2024
The club held its annual Freewheeling competition on Stone Stoup Hill, Ingleby Greenhow on Sunday, 3 November.
It was a fine day and there was a good turnout with over 30 riders taking part.
The winner was Marcus Smith. The top seven riders got over the crest of the first rise (probably the most for many years), but no one got all the way to Battersby not even Marcus with his eBike!
The top riders were :-
- Marcus Smith
- Harry Tanfield
- Eoin Carroll
- Gary Batty
- Tom Levell
- Dan Waring
- Martin Bell
- Toby Tanfield
- Andy Curson
- Mark Hansom
- Marjolein Van’t Geloof (Marjo) – first lady
The first three are in the photo below. A nonchalant Marcus flanked by Eoin (L) and Harry (R).

The full complement of riders are shown below :-

Many thanks to Brian Gleeson and Tom Levell for the photos.
David Appleyard also took some photos at the event and these have been posted on Facebook in the Cleveland Wheelers Members Group page. Thanks David.

Training Sessions
A small update on the structure of our sessions on a Monday evening.
CWCC Advanced Youth & Adult Coaching Sessions return on Monday 7th October, running after our Youth Coaching Sessions!
Our Youth Coaching will continue to run as normal :- 6pm – 7pm (beginners and young riders); 6pm – 730pm (advanced and older riders) at the cycle circuit at Middlesbrough Sports Village. It is £3 per rider, per session. Everyone is welcome to join us.
As previously mentioned, Adult & Advanced Youth Coaching recommences – 730pm – 830pm at the cycle circuit at Middlesbrough Sports Village. These sessions are £4 per rider, per session. These will be fast sessions so only youth riders who can ride with the groups will be eligible to take part, something to work towards.
PLEASE BRING AND WEAR APPROPRIATE CLOTHING!!! THERMALS, JACKETS, LONG PANTS, GLOVES!!! MORE IS BETTER DURING THESE COLDER MONTHS! MUDGUARDS ARE ALSO ADVISED.
We train every Monday evening (except bank holidays) at the cycle circuit at Middlesbrough Sports Village. A full list of dates is available here on the club calendar – https://clevelandwheelers.com/root/club/club-calendar/
You can join the club here if you haven’t already –
The coaching team look forward to seeing you at a future Cleveland Wheelers Training Session! 😊
