Evening Series Hillclimbs Time Trials

Evening Series 2025

This year’s Evening Series commences on Thursday, May 1st. It runs every two weeks for a total of 9 events, followed by 2 hillclimbs up Clay Bank. The best 5 from 9 count towards your total score for the ES.

As with last year, entry is £10 for adults and £5 for juniors, a one-off fee covering all events. This is incredibly good value at under £1 per ride.

Any non-members wishing to take part in the series, how about this for an idea? Join the club (£15 for adults, £5 for U21 and free for U18) and enter the series (£10 adult or £5 others) and get to ride the entire series at just over £2 per ride at most – probably still the cheapest “Club 10” in the North East!

You can enter by following this link: Evening Series Entry

Any non-members wishing to join should follow this link first: CWCC Membership.

Realistically, we need 20 entries to make it worthwhile and to provide the pool of people we need to help out (each entrant should help out at at least one event), otherwise we just can’t run it. At the time of publication, we have 16 entries – so a handful more needed, but more than a handful would be wonderful!

If you need any further information, contact us via this webform.

Many thanks
Steven Tilly (Secretary & ES Organiser)

Northallerton 50 in 4. Sunday 16th March

A successfully opening to the challenge ride season today with a huge turn out for the Northallerton 50 in 4.  With 67 riders signing on at Ayton, although more like 80 taking part. John Kelly ran out of signing on sheets! Anyhow all riders were dispatched safely from Ayton and completed the course without incident, other than the usual punctures and mechanicals. Condition’s definitely felt a bit Tour of Flanders today with muddy roads and some cold rain.

The ride attracted quite a few up and coming youth talent that wished to test themselves on the reliability ride, we even had guests from Wearside Tri club driving down for the event, and a guest appearance from Cleveland wheelers original and legend Terry Lunn who traveled up from York to take part ( Terry is 84-85 I think ?)

Only tweak I’m going to make for next year, is I’m going to reroute the ride so heading in to Northallerton, after the railway bridge we will take the left at the mini roundabout, through the industrial estate, out on to the Croft road and right on the new bypass. Things were getting a little tricky today as the groups turned right in Northallerton and the cars were backing up over the rail crossing.

Thanks to John kelly for his officiating, and for all those who took part.
