North East Youth League

Josef George writes :-

Hello everyone,

As things are returning to normal (fingers crossed!), we are very rapidly being able to return to our more regular calendar of events in relation to youth cycling.

So much so, that a number of clubs in our area are supporting the North East Youth League (NEYL) in hosting different rounds for 2021, which has just recently been given the go ahead.

Cleveland Wheelers CC are hosting round 1 which is very quickly approaching us as it is less than two weeks away now – Sunday 23rd May at the Cycle Circuit at Middlesbrough Sports Village.

It is a nice introduction to racing as other clubs from around the area will also be attending. Please note that entry is ONLINE only.

More information on cost, times and how to enter can be found in the link below which breaks down the full day’s event.

Myself, the coaching team and volunteers all hope to see as many of you as possible on the day as I’m sure a lot of you want to get back to racing! 🙂

If you require anything further, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Thanks & regards,

Josef George

CWCC Youth Coaching Restart

Josef George writes :-

Hello everyone,

Firstly, I hope that everyone is safe and doing well.

I last contacted you at the end of January 2021 to inform you all that our usual restart date of the first week of February would be postponed. Thank you for being patient with me during this time. In light of recent announcements, and after having several discussions and meetings with British Cycling and Everyone Active, I can now confirm that myself and the coaching team aim to restart our youth coaching sessions after the Easter holidays.

***** Cleveland Wheelers CC Youth Coaching will restart on Monday 12th April 2021, 6 – 7pm! *****

During this time, there are a number of things that I need to share with you all regarding the use of both cycling facilities at MSV. There have been several changes that will affect, A) us as a club delivering the sessions and B) you as a parent/youth/rider attending your club’s sessions. Please familiarize yourself with the key points below before you attend any of our sessions.

Covid Update

Hello everyone,

Just another reminder that there are no CWCC youth training sessions scheduled to take part for the remainder of 2020, as per the government restrictions put in place last week.

To those who attended any of our sessions in 2020, thank you for your support and we hope that you enjoyed attending and taking part!

As of this moment, I have no further update on them recommending, but please know that we are doing all we can to get these back up and running. Realistically, we are targeting a 2021 restart on Monday 1st February 2021. But let’s wait and see if there are any further developments, watch this space.

More info will be emailed out closer to the time. I am still available if anyone would like to contact me between now and February.

As per my last email, stay safe and have a merry Christmas and a happy new year! Let’s hope we can get more cycling training and racing completed in 2021!

CWCC Youth Sessions Restart

September 2020 – Update

Hello everyone,

I hope that everyone is safe and well and are enjoying their summer holidays as safely as possible.

I firstly would like to begin with an apology, as I was hoping to give you plenty of notice of our sessions restarting. I like to be well organised and less than a week isn’t ideal but it is what we have to deal with now. I was hopeful that I would have found out around mid-August as our application for our sessions went in at the start of August, but as you can imagine, they are very busy down at Everyone Active and they have only today provided me with the confirmation update that I was hoping to have had weeks ago.

Apart from a small update a few weeks ago, I last emailed you all at the beginning of July and said that we have been looking at the potential restart date of September 2020. I have been working very hard over the last couple of weeks with British Cycling (Cycling Governing Body) and Everyone Active (In charge of Facilities at Middlesbrough Sports Village (MSV)) regarding the potential reopening of the cycling facilities at MSV and the procedures that we all need to put in place in order to make this happen.

I CAN HAPPILY INFORM YOU ALL THAT MYSELF AND THE COACHING TEAM PLAN TO RESTART OUR SESSIONS ON – MONDAY 7th SEPTEMBER 2020, 1800-1900pm.
