Club membership renewals for 2016.
Hi wheelers.
It’s that time of year again when I need to begin to apply some pressure for membership renewals to avoid anyone being put in the unfortunate position of loosing their Cleveland wheelers membership benefits after the deadline of 30th November.
Thanks to all those who have renewed already. For everyone else then please see the ways to pay below.
The online payment is the preferred option. It’s easier for me, and easier for you. Just follow the link below to renew. Just to note that the SES system dose not recognise existing members unfortunately so please just complete all the fields as if you are a new member regardless of how long you have been with the club. The system is just a means of payment, plus we can keep your details updated at the same time. ( please note there is an SES admin charge of 60p )

Anyone who still wishes to pay by cash or cheque I’m going to relax on the payment methods and start to take cash subs again. I will dig my note book, pencil and plastic wallet out of retirement. I will be able to take payment at club runs, the bring and buy sale (Friday 30th Oct), and various other Cleveland wheelers wheelers venues, or simply stick it through my door with a note.
Renewal fee is £10 adults, £5 juniors 16/17 years old. Free for under 16s
You can also pay by cheque made payable to Cleveland Wheelers and post it through my door. 6 Glendue close, Nunthorpe, Middlesborough, TS70QN. If your posting cheques then please check with me that it has arrived as they have a habit of going missing in the post! I’m not taking bank transfers or PayPal this year as we have the online system in place and things become to complicated.
For under 16s I just need to know that juveniles will be staying with the club. No need to fill out any forms again. To be fair, most parents have already informed me as to what their children are doing next year so that list is almost complete.
For anyone who isn’t planning on rejoining the club, please just let me know. It’s much easier that way.
Please disregard this e mail if your an over 70s life member, honorary member, have paid recently or you joined the club on or after July 1st of this year. Any questions regarding your membership status then please just let me knowl
Thanks, Dave k

Anyone who still wishes to pay by cash or cheque I’m going to relax on the payment methods and start to take subs again beginning this weekend. I will dig my note book, pencil and plastic wallet out of retirement. I will be able to take payment at club runs, the bring and buy sale, and other wheelers venues. Deadline for renewal is November 30th, at which point you loose the benefits of being a Cleveland wheeler! Thanks to those who have renewed already.

Hi wheelers, this Sunday 11 oct. Chris Scott at blue giraffe cycles wants to do some publicity and is inviting cleveland wheelers to ride his falling leaves sportive for free! There are two routes both starting from Kirkby/broughton sports hall. The short one is 35 miles whilst the other is 55 and has hills. Both go to potto rountons and Appleby whiske and split after welbury. Short comes back whilst the long one climbs to osmotherly and then goes to Hornby comes out at the top of Newgate and returns by chop gate and broughton. Obviously the routes are signed and there would be water half way round. It would be a bit different for the club runs and is for free! The steady eddies would be ok on the short and the mountain goats will be well catered for on the long ride. Departing 08.30-09.00 at the latest.
Hi wheelers. Just a reminder that this Sunday 27th Sept is the final tourist challenge ride of this year. The “premier” event that is the Castleton 50. Always a great ride and usually good weather for Castleton tea shop at the end. Please meet at Marton cross roads ( Stewert park entrance) in time to sign on and pay your £1 fee and be ready for 9am depart. Once again Brian Bevis will be officiating for me. So no trying to sneak a tick in the mudguards and saddlebag tick boxes unless you have proper mudguards and saddle bag!
Once again I would like to appeal for calm. It’s not a race. I’m going to start it in waves as 60+ riders is far to many to ride together. If the faster riders go first, then we will start the 4hr timer when the last and steadiest group departs. Please try to ride tidily, once on the steep side of clay you can always accelerate and split the ability groups. However please try and avoid the approach to clay bank becoming like the Lincoln Grand pre as it became last year!
Anyone new to the tourist challenge rides please study the route and info on the link below. Although ability groups will form, tourist trials tend the be every rider for themselves and are not lead rides, so please familiarise yourself with the route. If your really stuck on the detail, just head to Helmesly, Kirbymoorside, Hutton Le Hole, Blakey ridge and finish outside Castleton Tea shop.
Anyone not wishing to ride the Castleton 50, please meet at your usual times at Ayton and sort yourselves a nice ride.
Thanks, Dave k
