Covid-19 Update

Josef George writes :-

Hello everyone,

Firstly, I would like to wish everyone a belated Happy New Year! I hope that everyone is safe and well!

I am contacting you regarding our Youth Sessions for 2021, this includes Youth Training, League 2000 and any other events that we have planned for the year.

We have a full calendar of events planned throughout the year, which we had planned to start on Monday 1st February 2021 and culminate on Monday 13th December 2021. The League 2000 is also planned for this year too from April.

However, as we are still current living through a global pandemic and due to the state of play at the moment in the UK, ALL ACTIVITY at Middlesbrough Sports Village is currently suspended.

Therefore, we are not able to restart our sessions this Monday 1st February 2021.

I am in contact weekly with members from British Cycling (Cycling Government Body) and Everyone Active (Operator at MSV) who are both pending Government announcements and guidance as well. As soon as I receive the good news that we can safely return and the parameters that surround it, I will let you all know ASAP.

If anyone has anything that they would like to discuss further, then please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Thanks & regards,

Josef George

CWCC Youth Sessions Restart

September 2020 – Update

Hello everyone,

I hope that everyone is safe and well and are enjoying their summer holidays as safely as possible.

I firstly would like to begin with an apology, as I was hoping to give you plenty of notice of our sessions restarting. I like to be well organised and less than a week isn’t ideal but it is what we have to deal with now. I was hopeful that I would have found out around mid-August as our application for our sessions went in at the start of August, but as you can imagine, they are very busy down at Everyone Active and they have only today provided me with the confirmation update that I was hoping to have had weeks ago.

Apart from a small update a few weeks ago, I last emailed you all at the beginning of July and said that we have been looking at the potential restart date of September 2020. I have been working very hard over the last couple of weeks with British Cycling (Cycling Governing Body) and Everyone Active (In charge of Facilities at Middlesbrough Sports Village (MSV)) regarding the potential reopening of the cycling facilities at MSV and the procedures that we all need to put in place in order to make this happen.

I CAN HAPPILY INFORM YOU ALL THAT MYSELF AND THE COACHING TEAM PLAN TO RESTART OUR SESSIONS ON – MONDAY 7th SEPTEMBER 2020, 1800-1900pm.

CWCC Youth Sessions & League 2000 Update

Message from Josef George, CWCC Youth Development Officer

Hello everyone,

Firstly, I would like to say, thank you for the responses from all the parents who got back to me regarding my previous email. I appreciate that you shared your opinion and thoughts on our sessions potentially restarting at Middlesbrough Sports Village (MSV). I’ve had lots of messages asking for an update so, hopefully, the information below will answer a lot of your questions.

CWCC – Youth Training Update 2020

Hello everyone,

In light of recent events happening around the world and to answer any questions that you all have about any of our sessions, I feel it is only right to send out an update from our side.

I have been in contact with Everyone Active over the last few days, whilst at the same time keeping a close eye on any government and official announcements. As they look after and maintain the facilities at Middlesbrough Sports Village, during this time, the fate of our sessions is solely in their hands.

After speaking with some of the management team at Everyone Active today, they have said that as it stands, everything is still open until they are told otherwise (from their head office).

They are working closely with the council and following strict government policies and official advice. Until they are told otherwise, they have said please treat everything as open/on, therefore please continue to use the services that we provide at Everyone Active.

This being said, unless we get more bad weather, or we receive a further update on what to do during this pandemic, all CWCC sessions will be on as normal.

If you require anything further, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Thanks & regards,
Josef George
