CWCC Open Hillclimb, 30th September

Sunday sees the latest annual running of the CWCC Open Hillclimb up Clay Bank. This year, due to roadworks on the usual course, we’re running the event up what we call “the steep side of Clay”. Like the usual course, this ends at the Clay Bank car park but begins just under a mile down the road towards Ingleby Greenhow rather than on the Great Broughton road. Can we ask those who go to spectate to take care on this road as it is much steeper and narrower than the usual course, and to be especially aware of the riders and of motorised traffic.

CWCC would like to thank The House Designerwear of Yarm for their continued support of our event, it’s much appreciated. We would also like to thank the Fietsen Tempo club for the donation of a new shield for “Top Teesside Veteran”, donated in honour of friend & club member Rob Hughes who sadly lost his battle with cancer early this year. Cancer touches almost everyone in some way or other and the money from the charity donations raised at this year’s event “cafe” will be donated to a relevant cancer charity.

A copy of the startsheet can be found here.

A copy of the event manual, which includes the location of HQ, details of the route and how to get to the start, can be found here.

See you all on Sunday.
