Tour De Yorkshire – Volunteers Required

Volunteers are requested for the Middlesbrough leg. The communication from the TdY organisers is reprinted below. If you want to help out then please get in touch via the web link at the bottom of the article.

The Tour de Yorkshire is back. We need your help!
Following the Grand Départ of the Tour de France in 2014,  Yorkshire is now hosting its own international cycle race – the Tour de Yorkshire – which will take place again this year from 29th April – 1st May.

Working in partnership with our regional Police forces, we are looking for a passionate and reliable team of volunteers.  If you are interested in becoming a Tour Maker for this year’s race, complete our survey and we’ll get in touch with you. It’s a fantastic opportunity to be part of the race and be very close to the action, as well as being the welcoming face of Yorkshire for the race spectators.

Volunteers will need to attend a training session and, of course, be available on race weekend (Friday 29 April, Saturday 30 April and Sunday 1 May). Start and finish towns are Beverley, Doncaster, Middlesbrough, Otley, Scarborough and Settle.

League 2000 2016

League 2000 enters its 20th year this year. We trust that once again it will prove to be as popular with the region’s young riders as it has in the past.
In order to help us make it work it would be great if as many people as possible could volunteer a little of their time to help out at a few sessions. The “Parental Involvement” form, below, gives more details, including who to contact.
For those of you wishing to enter, this year’s entry form is also below, as is the code of conduct expected of parents who are there supporting their children.
We look forward to seeing you all there in the coming months.

Presentation Evening 2016

Time is running out to get your tickets for the Wheelers’ presentation evening. It’s always a good do, not at all stuffy or formal, a good chance to meet your mates, especially those you don’t get to ride with so often (maybe they’re fast group and you’re medium) and the chance to see Dave Kirton “rip up the dance floor” with those special 70s disco moves.
We’re trying a different formula this year and Marcus has come up with some pretty interesting ideas, so let’s all get along there and support it.

Clay Bank Hillclimb – Historical Results & Records

Club member Tom Levell has collated the results of the Hill Climb since we started running it up Clay Bank and has produced a table of everyone that has taken place. This covers both the open events and club evening series and is ranked by time, showing each person’s PB. The table can be found here.
