Hello everyone,
*** I have to start with an unfortunate message to be sharing with you all. Unfortunately, a car was broken into in the car park on Monday evening whilst we were all in attendance at Round 9. The car belonged to a parent of our cycling community and the parent, myself, the League 2000 team and the team at Everyone Active would like to spread awareness of this issue. Whilst you park at your own risk, please do everything that you can to not leave anything on show, lock your car up securely and park safely. Everyone Active have advised me that their staff and liaison officer are out doing regular walk rounds and checks of the facilities. Please see the attached photo of the area in question in the car park, which is apparently a ‘grey area’ that security cameras do not pick up. I would advise not parking in this area of the car park going forward. ***
Round 9 Stats & Info –
The League 2000 returns for its 26th season, with a full 12 rounds between April – July 2023.
Round 9 had 45 riders enter on a very wet and windy evening, until the sun broke through the clouds for the races.
We had 2 new riders take part in the League 2000 for the very first time.
Even though tricky conditions graced us for the Time Trial, 7 riders where still able to improve on their TT times based on their previous times set.
We are over the half way point of the League 2000 & events are closely contested across all rounds. With the action now heating up, who will come out on top on each age category?
Lots of positive smiling faces having fun and a good sense of camaraderie across all clubs represented, as always, creating a lovely atmosphere.
Thank you for attending and we hope you all had fun & enjoyed the round! The next round, Round 10, is on Monday 17th July 2023.
Housekeeping Messages –
If you know of anyone who is interested in getting into cycling, please let them know about The League 2000 – it is a good place to start! 🙂
I was a guest on Episode 6 of The Cycling Circuit Podcast, talking all things League 2000 – feel free to listen here and share freely – https://linktr.ee/thecyclingcircuit
Please make sure that registration is completed before attending. You only need to register ONCE for the whole series. You cannot enter any rounds unless you register first. If you still need to register, see this link – https://clevelandwheelers.com/league-2000-forms/
We have a new Rules & Regulations section which is now live on our website. Whilst we still want to have a fun and competitive League 2000 competition, we all need to be playing within the rules. Please familiarise yourself with this as well as our Code of Conduct for riders and parents / guardians. Hopefully this helps explain how a round typically works and the rules to compete within.
Your cooperation is much appreciated with this and if we are all able to get this right, we can make the evenings much more streamlined. You have as much say in how smooth the evening runs as much as we do 🙂
