Cleveland wheelers 100 in 8 challenge ride. Sunday July 24th, 9am, Ayton

Hi wheelers. It’s all go with the challenge rides this year, after squeezing in the revamped 150/12 recently, we’re now on to the 100 in 8 challenge ride next Sunday, 24th July, 9am prompt depart from Ayton tourist info car park, finishing at fletchers farm. Iv listened to the feedback from members and I’m aware that last years new route wasn’t popular, and not being afraid to change things and fiddle around with routes Iv reverted back to something similar to the old old route, pre 2012, Richmond, Grinton, Layburn, masham and back via an osmotherly loop to round up the miles. It’s not an overly difficult route as the idea of the 100/8 is to lure any riders in that may not have attempted 100 miles before. Riders are fine to go it alone or in their small groups, however the usual steady, medium and fast groups will be provided if riders would prefer to ride it club run style. Please see the link below for further details and route. Also please be at Ayton, signed on and ready for a prompt start at the earlier time of 9am! Riders not wishing to take part please form your usual 9.30 club run groups. Thanks, Dave k

League 2000 Round 9 – Weather Warning

Josef George writes :-

Hello everyone,

I’m sure that most if not all of you will be aware of the sunny weather that we have been blessed with over this past week. This is set to continue into next week, however with the increasingly high warm temperatures, a weather warning has been issued. This will affect Round 9, please see the current forecast for tomorrow –

Please prepare for your day appropriately.

  • Do not wear excess clothing when riding, wear the essentials only to avoid becoming too hot. Perfect t-shirt and shorts weather!
  • But, with more skin on show means more protection required from the sun, suncream is a must!
  • Also please bring plenty of drinks, the more water the better!
  • We will have our refreshments open as usual, free water and cordial is available as always. Come see us in the hut if you need a top up at any point during the evening.

Myself and the coaching team look forward to seeing you all tomorrow for what will be an amazing day of racing.

If you require anything further, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Thanks & regards,

Josef George
