Daniel Thompson

It is a great honour and privilege to announce that one of our youth/junior riders, who has progressed through our ranks, has now been selected for the Great Britain Cycling Team (GBCT) World Class Programme (WCP) as part of the Men’s Endurance Olympic Development Squad (ODS)! 🚴🎉🙌

Congratulations to Daniel Thompson ! 👏

Fresh from his first senior national track championships at the weekend, comes this unbelievable news. Daniel mixed it up with the big boys at the weekend and although there are no results to write home about, it was an exceptional performance and it was the way that he held himself and went about his business – leaving it all on the track 💪

From rubbing shoulders with Olympians, European and World championship riders and medallists amongst others, well done Daniel! You have done yourself, your family and friends and your club proud! 🤝

Velo 29 Winter Series

Round 4 – 5 Feb 2022

A good turn out of Cleveland Wheelers today for the last round of the Velo 29 Winter Series at Croft. There were no podium places but all riders rode well. Well done to Dan Waring, Peter Gunn, Rohan Rayner-Smith and David Waring. The gale force winds didn’t help proceedings!

Dan Waring tied for the first overall for the 4th cats in the series. He may have gone better but he couldn’t compete in the last 4th cat race as his previous good showings had moved him up to 3rd cat.

Velo 29 Winter Series

Round 3 – 29 Jan 2022

Congratulations to Dan Waring on his second place in the 4th cat race.

It was a repeat of his second place last Saturday. Good news – this result moves him up from a fourth cat rider to a third.

Congratulations also to fellow Wheelers, Rohan Rayner-Smith and David Waring (Dan’s cousin) for completing the race in the very trying weather conditions. It was David’s first ever race.
