Firstly thank you for being patient with us whilst we got our system up and running.

I can happily confirm that we are now accepting entries for the 25th edition of the League 2000, 2022!

We are back to a full calendar for 2022, with 12 rounds on 12 consecutive weeks from Monday 23rd May – Monday 8th August 2022.

See our attached introduction booklet for more information. You can also check our website and feel free to check us out on social media as well, using the links below –

If any rounds are cancelled or moved, you will be notified via our website, social media and email via the one you provide on sign up.

Everything that you will need to know is all listed on our website, https://clevelandwheelers.com/ under the League 2000 tab. Hover over this and the various drop-down menus will appear. Feel free to familiarise yourself with these before you register / enter.

We have a new process for the 2022 season –

***** Registration *****

To register for the League 2000, you will need to fill out our Online Entry Form, once, per child. The registration form will only need to be completed once for the whole series.

We will keep the information entered and use it on subsequent weeks. You will need to register again if all details have changed. Alternatively, if it is something simple like a change of contact number, feel free to use the Contact Us tab to inform us of any changes.

When filling out the form please enter the details carefully so that no spelling mistakes are made and the correct information is provided. Any details given fraudulently will result in removal from the league and all results rendered void.

Once you have registered for the League 2000, you will still need to enter each round each week by entering your child/children’s name through our Round Entry system.

***** Round Entry *****

Please note that you will need to register for the League 2000 before you can enter any round.

To enter, parents will need to locate their child’s name from the drop-down menus and enter them into each round via the ‘Round Entry’ Tab. Links for each round will remain open between Tuesday – Sunday, the week prior to that round starting on the following Monday or until we reach our capacity per round.

Please note that you will need to do this each week for the rounds you would like to enter.

Please contact us if you have registered and your child’s name does not appear on the round entry list.

Myself and the entire League 2000 team are looking forward to putting on a fantastic series for you this year and we look forward to welcome you all down to the cycle circuit for some great youth cycling this season!

If you require anything further, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Thanks & regards,

Josef George

CWCC League 2000 & NEYL Racing Update

Josef George writes :-

Hello everyone,

Just a quick update for information regarding the League 2000 & North East Youth League from Cleveland Wheelers. After making the most of what we could last year, ourselves and other clubs are looking at going from strength to strength and put on as much youth racing as possible in our region for you to attend this year.

League 2000

The 25th Edition of the League 2000 is set to kick off with Round 1 on Monday 23rd May 2022 at Middlesbrough Sports Village. We will then run on each consecutive week for 12 weeks until Monday 8th August 2022. All information can be found on our website,  https://clevelandwheelers.com/ and hover over the League 2000 tab for the respective tabs. Registration is not currently available at this time, but we are hoping to have this available by the beginning of April. More information will be shared once this is ready.

North East Youth League

The NEYL is back with a full series for 2022. The League kicks off on Sunday 1st May 2022 at Hetton Lyons Country Park. Cleveland Wheelers host round 2 on Sunday 8th May at Middlesbrough Sports Village. The series continues throughout the summer and it will be excellent to see as many of you there as possible! I believe that things are in motion to get these events online ready to enter via the British Cycling website, so watch this space for the events going live! More information will be provided when possible. Further information can be found by following ‘North East Youth League 2022’ on Facebook.

League 2000

League 2000 is in full swing. Unfortunately numbers have had to be restricted due to Covid policies, but there are still more than enough participants to make for a really fun series. Here are a few photos from this Monday’s meeting and a larger gallery can be found here.

It’s great fun, with a skills course, time trial and handicapped circuit races. It’s also great for both children and parents to catch up with like-minded people and make new friends.

The series has a few more weeks to run, so it’s not too late to get involved. Entrants must register for each event online – full details on the Wheelers’ website.

Covid-19 Update

Josef George writes :-

Hello everyone,

Firstly, I would like to wish everyone a belated Happy New Year! I hope that everyone is safe and well!

I am contacting you regarding our Youth Sessions for 2021, this includes Youth Training, League 2000 and any other events that we have planned for the year.

We have a full calendar of events planned throughout the year, which we had planned to start on Monday 1st February 2021 and culminate on Monday 13th December 2021. The League 2000 is also planned for this year too from April.

However, as we are still current living through a global pandemic and due to the state of play at the moment in the UK, ALL ACTIVITY at Middlesbrough Sports Village is currently suspended.

Therefore, we are not able to restart our sessions this Monday 1st February 2021.

I am in contact weekly with members from British Cycling (Cycling Government Body) and Everyone Active (Operator at MSV) who are both pending Government announcements and guidance as well. As soon as I receive the good news that we can safely return and the parameters that surround it, I will let you all know ASAP.

If anyone has anything that they would like to discuss further, then please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Thanks & regards,

Josef George
