AGM 2015

This is advanced notice that the club AGM will be held on Wednesday, September 16th at 7.30pm (usually 7.45 by the time we can get in and set up) in St. Joseph’s Church Hall, Stokesley. If anyone has any issues for the agenda please make them known to a committee member for consideration. Also (and especially) if anyone is willing to help out in any way next year (organising events, helping with existing activities) then please make this known and attend the AGM if possible.

Your support at the AGM would be appreciated – it’s your club after all.

Revolve 24 At Brands Hatch

Anyone looking for something a little different might be interested in the Revolve24 to be held at Brands Hatch on 19/20 September this year. It’s basically a 24-hour relay race though it is open to soloists if you think you have it in you. 24-hour events are quite common in mountain biking, here’s a chance to do one on your road bike. Entry is discounted by 15% for BC members up until 12th July. You can ride it just for the fun/thrill of it, or you can ride it for charity, it’s up to you.

If you and your mates fancy this then give it a bash. An electronic flyer is available here.

Club Rider Support

At the AGM last September the committee was tasked to find a way to spend some of its income on support of riders engaging in racing on behalf of CWCC, be that at youth or senior level, road racing or TT. It has been a long process, but the criteria for support and the mechanism to provide it has been agreed and implemented and those parties concerned have been informed of the arrangements.

Roger Davies 100mile unicycle record attempt. 9th July, Croft circuit.

Hi, wheelers.

Club member Roger Davies is going to be attempting to break the 100 mile none geared unicycle record on Thursday 9th July using Croft circuit. Roger is aiming for around 6hrs. Rogers mate Sam Wakeling is going to ride a geared unicycle and attempt the 100 miles in 5hrs 45mins, an impressive target.

Please find more detailed information below

http://100.samwakeling.com/

Roger has asked if any of the club members are about and would like to come along and support. We are looking for cyclists who can bring us food and water during the event. We are also looking for people to do lap counting. Guinness are demanding quite a few people for the monitoring so the more people we can get there the better… or if anyone just wants to come along for the spectacle.

We have access to the site from 9:00 and intend to start by 10:00. That should mean we should be finished by 16:00.

Thanks, Roger Davies.

Fletcher’s Farm

Many thanks to Fletcher’s Farm Coffee Shop for their hospitality on Sunday at the end of our big ride out in the company of Cycling Weekly. It’s a great setup that they have there (loads of comfy seating, inside & out, ample parking, kids playground), and a very tasty menu too! We’d recommend it to anyone looking for a coffee stop, whether on foot, two wheels or four.
