Hi all. Mixed ability social/training ride. Meeting as usual at Ayton tourist info car park at 6pm for 6.10set off. All welcome. This week we could possibly split it in to two groups. I know some of you like blasting off around the east rountern route, so you can do that whilst I will lead a mixed ability group on the commondale bus stop run. Regroup back at the Buck in Ayton for a soft drink! See you all there,(hopefully!) Dave k

Hi all. This week I think we will do the commondale bus stop run as punishment for you all having a good time around the country lanes last week. Also due to initial feedback from the club survey we will go to the buck in Ayton afterwards to socialise and get to know each other better. Anyone who wishes to skip the training just go directly to the buck for about 7.30. See you all there. P.s I’m still under restrictions after injuring my knee so might just ride half way and back and look after any steady riders that join us. Dave k
Hi all, the Tour de France ride is nearly upon us and the weather prospects are looking good. I think we are going to have a good turn out of 20 to 30 riders in Harrogate but it’s difficult to say.
Those of you who have studied the route may have already realised that it differs from the actual Tour de France route at the start and finish, but also the middle section from Aysgarth to Hawes (we go through Askrigg). Our route is a B road route to take out the none interesting and busy roads. We will still be riding about 80% of the actual route and taking in the main features of the ride, it will also be approximately the same mileage as the real tour stage so no one will be losing out on valuable miles! As long as people get over to Hawes, Buttertubs and back round Grinton and Leyburn back to Harrogate then it doesn’t really matter. We will mostly be sticking together in groups anyway.
Everyone is welcome to come and join us, were also using the ride as an opportunity to raise funds for club member Keith Alderson’s granddaughter who is undergoing cancer treatment. Please check out the details on clevelandwheelers.com
Finally please make sure you have all your repair kits and energy supplies with you as on a normal club run (sorry I know I’m fussing again!) The back up car will be meeting up with us at Grassington and Reeth, plus at the top of the big 3 climbs so you can put extra supplies in the car, but it won’t be following behind us like a team car so please don’t rely on it for mechanicals. There’s no magic spanner or sticky bottles on this one I’m afraid.
Finally, see you all there, I’m looking forward to it.

Hi all. I think this week we will keep it simple and do easby loops after a couple of weeks of clay bank and midgy bites! Might try running it in the other direction though (clockwise) to help us regroup at the duddly arms and to take some speed out on the dodgy bends. Meet 6pm as normal for 6.10 set off, Ayton tourist info car park. All welcome. Steady one lap round for any new riders before I release the clamp! See you all there. Dave k
Mixed ability social / training ride will be on as normal meeting at Ayton tourist info car park at 6pm for 6.10 set off. All welcome. Due to popular demand it’s the 3 sides of clay bank hill repeats again. I won’t be there I’m afraid but Katie scot is going to meet you all on clay bank for descending practice, so if you can please help her with that, and also look after anyone else new that turns up and ease them out on to the circuit. Have fun! Dave k
