Hi all. Tuesday night club run meeting as usual Ayton tourist info car park at 6pm for 6.10 set off. All welcome. The weather dosnt look so bad now, looks like the rain is stopping late afternoon. It’s going to be windy though, so we can do some clay bank loops this week. Head out steady to Ingleby Greenhow, then loops around broughton, clay bank, descend with caution back towards Ingleby, then repeat. 3 groups, with one of the groups heading off to do a fast chain gang around the lanes if anyone wishes. Have a good ride. See you all there. Dave k

Hi wheelers. Right, after considering the weather we will stick with the plan to view the TDY at the top of Blakey / Ralphs cross at the junction with Rosedale. The weathers looking nice but it will be cold with a NE wind so wrap up warm and bring some spare layers. Ride departs Ayton tourist info car park at 11.30 Friday 1st May. Steady amble over kildale, Hob hole and Westerdale bank regrouping at the top of the climbs. We can always ride up and down Blakey ridge to keep warm and call in to the lion inn, so bring money and locks. Please try and wear your wheelers kit if possible so that Harry Tanfield can spot us if he has time to look up! You never know we may even make it on to Eurosport? See you all tomorrow. Thanks, Dave k
Hi wheelers. I know many of you have been asking if there is an official club run to ride over and view the Tour De Yorkshire this Friday 1st May. Well yes there are plans in the pipeline. Much of it depends on the weather of course.
The plan is to meet at Great Ayton tourist info car park at 11.30 for a steady amble over in Castleton direction. The tour heads up from Rosedale, over Blakey ridge and down towards Castleton sometime shortly after 2pm. If the weathers good then we plan to spectate at Ralph’s cross at the junction to Rosedale as there is good viewing in to the distance (we could call at the Lion in before hand if we have time?) If the weather is not so good then we can watch in Danby where it’s more sheltered and there is a small climb. I will make a decision nearer the time. If anyone wants to meet us over that way then that’s great. Also if anyone would like to do an extra club run meeting at Auton at say 10am to do a loop first before riding over 11.30am then that’s also fine. Wrap up warm, bring supplies and be ready to give our Cleveland Wheelers Super star rider Harry Tanfield a big cheer. I’m sure we will all be wishing him good luck and hoping for a big big performance from him on home soil.
See you all at Ayton. I will confirm plans for viewing location via the website later this week.
Thanks, Dave
Tuesday night club run 28th April.
Hi wheelers. The weathers not looking so good this Tuesday I’m afraid, so this week we will revert to clockwise Easby/Ingleby loops with the option of a fast group going off to do a chain gang around the country lanes.
Please meet at Ayton tourist info car park at 6pm for 6.10 set off. All welcome/mixed ability. Steady and medium groups to do Easby loops. Fast group possible option of chain gang. Please ensure there is a gap of at least 1 minute as the groups roll out the car park as to avoid any confusion. Ride steady in your groups for 1 lap of the easby course, then as fast as you like, regrouping back at the Buck at Ayton for 7.30 if you wish. See you all there.
Thanks, Dave k
Hi wheelers. Due to popular demand and good weather, the prescription for this week is the commondale bus stop ride. Please meet at Ayton tourist info car park as usual at 6pm for a 6.10 set off and organise your selfs in to steady, medium and fast groups. All welcome. Unfortunately last week no one appeared to hear my instructions to leave a gap between groups and I didn’t find out till the end of the ride that everyone had followed the fast group straight out of the car park and some chaos had apparently ensued. So this week the ride leaders will be making sure a gap of a minute is left. Ride steady in your groups to Kildale, then as fast as you wish up to commondale bus stop. Option for anyone who wishes to continue on and do the Castleton, dibble bridge loop or commondale bank repeats. Regroup back at the Buck at Ayton if you wish. I won’t be there I’m afraid so please have an enjoyable and tidy ride.
Thanks, Dave k
