I have been Chairman of Cleveland Wheelers for many more years than I can remember but over the last year I have been thinking that it is about time that I stepped down and let someone new take over the handlebars!
I have enjoyed my time holding on to the ‘handlebars’ and am proud of the things that we have achieved, such as having 10 British Cycling level 2 coaches! There are many other things that we have also accomplished and I am grateful to all those people who have worked with me to get the club to where it is today.
The current world situation is indeed terrible and cycling unimportant. It has left the club year rightly suspended. With nothing club orientated taking place now or for some considerable time it feels like an appropriate moment to retire and give the committee time to find someone new to pilot the club from Septembers AGM.
