The ever popular (and dare we say “famous”) Cleveland Wheelers winter training sessions begin again this coming Monday, 3rd October at the Cycle Circuit at Middlesbrough Sports Village (Prissick). The sessions run from 7.30 till 9pm and cover a range of drills that improve both fitness and bike handling skills, particularly those skills that revolve around riding in groups.
CWCC have recently invested heavily in coach training and each session this year will led by qualified coaches. Sessions will cost £4 per person and will run every Monday through until April, with the exception of holiday periods (Christmas/New Year) and in the event of really bad weather. This website will provide details of when sessions are NOT being held.
Sessions are open to all adults and to “advanced” juniors aged 14+, by which we mean those already used to racing/group riding. A parental consent form will need to be signed by the parents of all junior riders wishing to take part (done on the evening, at their first session).
Please note that although the circuit is lit we require all participants to have a rear light (preferably solid) and also mudguards (not just Ass Savers, it’s for the rider behind, not for yourself) in wet conditions. You yourslef should dress accordingly for the conditions. Winter nights can get cold, wet & windy.
