Ride with Lawrie

On Wednesday 17th January 2024, Lawrie Dryden’s funeral cortege will be taking him from his home on St Mary’s Walk, Acklam to St Hilda’s chapel at Teesside Crematorium on Acklam Road. This is a relatively short journey in terms of distance, but not in significance.

To remember his love and passion for cycling, riders are invited to accompany Lawrie, on this journey, which will leave just before 11am.

The funeral at St Hilda’s will be a small family gathering with a few close friends including the group which he regularly rode with, who will take him on his very last part of the journey into the crematorium.

Please remember that the open memorial service to celebrate Lawrie’s life is at 2pm at the Jubilee Church, Yarm Road, Stockton so there is an opportunity to take a ride out to one of Lawrie’s favourite local café stops prior to this. There are secure cycle parking facilities at the Jubilee church.

If you wish to ride with Lawrie, please meet in the end of Ambleside Grove, just off St Mary’s Walk, in Acklam at 10:45am.
