Route on RideWithGPS
This is a good route for getting back to hills after a winter of flat routes. It starts by going off to Commondale and then loops around to come back through Kildale to Ingleby Greenhow. From there it goes on to Carlton, Faceby & Swainby from where it climbs Scarth Nick to reach Osmotherley. From there it’s the tried and tested route back via the Rountons, Trenholme Bar and Hutton Rudby. It’s a good route for variable/unpredictable weather as you can choose not to go out to Commondale or not to go up Scarth Nick (just cross the A172 and reach Hutton Rudby via Potto).
