Tuesday night social / training ride. Mixed ability. 6pm

Meeting at Ayton tourist info car park at 6pm for 6.10 set of as usual. All welcome. This Tuesday we can do the clay bank merry-go-round. Steady ride out to Ingleby, then climb steep side of clay, turn left, descend and climb chop gate side, carry straight on over to descend and climb clay bank long side, then turn left to descend and climb steep side again. A bit like a T shape! As many or few laps as you wish. Or simply sit it out at the top and watch the fun. Only word of warning is please be carefull turning around in the road at the bottom of each climb. Chop gate side particularly hasn’t much sighting distance so take care. Anyone fancy the buck at Ayton afterwards? Dave k

Tuesday night social / training ride. (Mixed ability)

Hi all. This week we will return to our Easby loops. Meeting at Ayton tourist info car park at 6pm for 6.10 set off. All welcome. I don’t think we have our new rider guests from Cleveland tri club coming along as I thought, but we will stick with the Easby loops anyway as I’m sure you have all had enough of hills after Sundays mountain challenge. If the weather stays like this it might be a night to consider cutting the ride a bit short and going to the Buck at Ayton for the social part of the training? See you all there. Dave k

Charity Ride

I work for the childrens charity Railway Children based in South Cheshire and we are launching a brand new cycle event in July this year  the Tour de Yorkshire. Following the stage one route of the Tour de France we are inviting cyclists to join us just a week after the professionals pass through and challenging them to cycle the same 120 miles, starting and finishing in Ilkley. The event welcomes both individual and team participants.

For individual participants, there is a £55 registration fee and a minimum sponsorship ask of £100. To enter a team of four people, the registration fee is £50 per person and the minimum sponsorship ask is £50 per person.

Railway Children is a charity which cares and protects for some of the worlds poorest and most vulnerable children living alone and at risk on streets and railway platforms in India, East Africa and right here in the UK. If you would like to learn more about the charity or the event itself, please visit www.railwaychildren.org.uk/tourdeyorkshire. Alternatively, please email our events manager Katie Mason at k.mason@railwaychildren.org.uk.

Thank you for your time.

With kind regards,

Louise
